EPL: Chelsea to pay £5m to send Sancho back to Man Utd

Chelsea will have to pay around £5 million to Manchester United if they decide against signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis in the summer.

Sancho joined the Blues on a season-long loan last summer.

As part of the agreement between the two Premier League clubs, Chelsea have an obligation to buy Sancho permanently for £25 million.

In the scenario that they decide against signing the player permanently, a clause in the deal dictates that they would still have to pay a fixed amount of £5 million to the Red Devils, according to The Athletic.

Sancho began his time at Stamford Bridge on a good note, contributing an assist in each of his first three league appearances.

However, since then, the England midfielder’s form has dipped, with Sancho scoring just two goals and providing only one more assist in the subsequent 20 league matches.

This poor run of form has led to serious questions about whether Chelsea should keep the winger.
