2026 WCQ: Zimbabwe coach lists two things his players must do against Nigeria

Zimbabwe head coach, Michael Nees has said that his players must not allow a slow start to the game against Nigeria.

Nees also said that his players must give total concentration from the beginning to the end of the encounter against the Super Eagles.

The two teams will clash in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday evening.

Nigeria defeated Rwanda 2-0 in their last game while Zimbabwe drew 2-2 with Benin Republic.

Nees’ men will need a win against Eric Chelle’s side to get their campaign back on track.

Speaking ahead of the game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Nees told journalists: “Nigeria is absolute top level. We cannot allow a slow start to the game to happen.

“We must be there from the beginning in our game. Our concentration must be there because the goals (against Benin on Thursday), when you look at it, were a little gifted from us.”

The kick-off time for the match is 5 pm, Nigerian time.
