2026 WCQ: Musona’s return big boost for Zimbabwe – Nees

Zimbabwe head coach Michael Nees says his team has been boosted by the return of veteran forward Knowledge Musona.

Musona has returned to the Warriors after a three-year absence.

The Al-Okhdood of Saudi Arabia forward marked his comeback with a goal in the Warriors’ 2-2 draw with Benin Republic last week.

“Musona is very important. He’s experienced, has the skills and character, and has added value to our team,” Nees told a press conference.

“We’re happy he’s back, and he’s also happy to be back.”

The Warriors will face Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Tuesday (today).
