Egypt confirmed as new hosts of U-20 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has confirmed Egypt as new hosts of the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

CAF took the decision following Cote d’Ivoire’s withdrawal as host of the competition this week.

The Egyptian Football Association and the Egyptian Government had previously submitted a bid to host the biennial tournament.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Egypt also staged the biennial competition in 2023.

The competition, according to the continent’s soccer ruling body, will be staged as scheduled.

It will run from Sunday, 27 April to Sunday 18, May.
