FA Cup: I’ve been very poor this season – Man City boss, Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed his performance has been “really poor” as his team struggles to recapture their title-winning form.

City, who have won six Premier League titles since Guardiola arrived in 2016, are fifth in the table.

The champions sit 22 points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

In the Champions League, City crashed out before the last 16 following a 6-3 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid.

When asked by reporters to rate his performance, Guardiola responded: “This season? Really poor.”

“My duty was to get out of the situation much better than I have done.”

City will take on Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday as they seek to lift the trophy for an eighth time.

However, Guardiola has made it clear that silverware or European qualification would not erase the disappointment of this season’s domestic campaign.
