Dangote Petrol: MRS increases fuel price

MRS filling stations, partner of Dangote Refinery, has increased premium motor spirit price to N930 and N950 in Lagos and Abuja.

Media Talk Africa observed on Saturday that MRS filling station along Kubwa Expressway in Abuja has implemented the new price template.

This means that the price of petrol has been increased between N70 and N80 per litre from the old price of N860 and N880 per litre in Lagos and Abuja.

“I was not surprised at the price hike; we saw it coming after Dangote Refinery announced days back that it has stopped sales of petrol in Naira,” a motorist in Abuja told Media Talk Africa.

The development comes as Dangote Refinery on March 19 announced that it has suspended the sale of petroleum products in Naira.

Similarly, other filling stations in Abuja have also adjusted their petrol pump price.

For instance, Empire Filling Station in Gwarimpa increased its petrol price to N975 per litre from N945.

However, Media Talk Africa gathered that the petrol retail pump price at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited remained at N880 per litre in Abuja as of Saturday evening.
