Israel orders Rafah evacuation, continues bombardment of Gaza

Israel has ordered fresh forced evacuation in Rafah, southern Gaza, as the military announced it plans to expand its renewed assault on the enclave.

Avichay Adraee, the military’s Arabic language spokesperson, revealed this on X on Monday morning.

He noted that the army was returning to “fight with great force” in Rafah, which is one of Gaza’s largest cities.

Andraee called on Palestinians to immediately move to shelter in al-Mawasi on the coast.

The area has constantly come under Israeli fire despite being designated as a “safe zone”.

Shortly after this evacuation order, Al Jazeera Arabic claimed that at least two people had been killed after an Israeli attack on a tent that housed displaced people.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, over 900 people have been killed since the bombardment resumed.
