Barcelona wrong to register Dani Olmo, Pau Víctor – La Liga

La Liga have claimed Barcelona didn’t have the salary space to register Dani Olmo or Paul Víctor.

This comes as Spain’s sports ministry, CSD, is set to determine this week whether the duo can play again this season.

The league has questioned the €100million deal which saw the CSD granting Olmo and Víctor temporary registrations in January.

La Liga further threatened to report the unnamed auditor Barcelona used to verify the sale of VIP seats at the redeveloped Spotify Camp Nou.

The deal wasn’t included in the accounts Barça submitted last week to La Liga for the 2024/2025 season, which were approved by a different auditor.

“The financial statements show Barcelona did not have on December 31, 2024, nor on January 3, 2025, nor since that date the capacity to register Olmo and Víctor,” the league said in a statement on Wednesday.

La Liga have now informed Barça about “the reduction of their spending limit,” which had risen to €463m in February.
