Rivers Sole Administrator cancels all procurement, orders refund of tender fees

The Rivers State Government has cancelled all procurement and tender processes conducted by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs.

This was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Worika.

The statement instructed all MDAs that had conducted tender processes for projects to refund the contractors immediately.

According to Professor Worika, the sole administrator of the state, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, stated that the directive remains in effect pending the approval of a state spending plan, which will be communicated in due course.

The statement further emphasised that the directive complies with “the Supreme Court’s judgment upholding the Court of Appeal ruling in Suit No. CA/ABJ/CV/133/2024.”
