EPL: He’s so good, humble, kind – Maresca names best defensive midfielder

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has named his player, Moises Caicedo as the best defensive midfielder in the world.

According to him, the player’s humility and kindness is second to none.

Enzo Fernàndez, assisted by Cole Palmer, put the Blues in front in the 50th minute against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night and Caicedo thought he has made it 2-0 in the 58 minute but his goal was disallowed by VAR.

The victory against Spurs meant that Enzo Maresca’s side returned to fourth place in the Premier League table with 52 points, displacing Man City at 51.

Although it would be too bold to call the Ecuadorian the world’s best defensive midfielder at the moment, yet his humility and work ethic seem to truly impress the Italian gaffer.

Speaking to the press after the game, Maresca said, “Moi Caicedo is so humble, so kind… so good. He’s one of the best, if not the best, defensive midfielder in the world right now.

“The best thing about Moi is that every day he’s working very seriously. He’s an example.”
