Sporting to sell Gyokeres below release clause as Arsenal, Man Utd circle

Sporting Lisbon are reportedly willing to sell Viktor Gyökeres at a reduced fee as a gesture of gratitude, according to The Sun.

The Swedish striker is expected to depart Portugal this summer, with both Arsenal and Manchester United expressing strong interest in securing his services.

Gyökeres has emerged as one of Europe’s most in-form forwards, having delivered a remarkable tally of 43 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions thus far in the 2024–25 season.

The forward is currently under contract with Sporting until 2028, with a release clause set at £85 million.

Although there was significant interest in him during the January transfer window, Gyökeres opted to remain and complete the season with the Lisbon club.

In recognition of his loyalty during the winter period, Sporting are now reportedly prepared to facilitate his desired move by accepting a transfer fee in the region of £55 million to £70 million.
