NPFL: Rivers United get Abdullahi’s boost for Remo

Rivers United have received a significant boost with the return of their top scorer, Kabir Abdullahi, ahead of their crucial Matchday 32 encounter against Remo Stars.

Abdullahi has resumed full training after a prolonged spell on the sidelines due to injury.

The towering forward has been named in the matchday squad by head coach Finidi George for the clash with Remo Stars.

He has netted four goals for the Port Harcourt-based side so far this season.

Rivers United will be aiming to close the gap on Remo Stars at the summit of the table when both sides meet at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.

Remo Stars currently sit at the top of the table with 60 points from 30 matches, while Rivers United trail in second place, eight points adrift.

The home side boast an impressive record against Daniel Ogunmodede’s men, remaining unbeaten in their last five home fixtures against them — recording four victories and one draw.
