NPFL: Ogunmodede confident Remo Stars will win title despite defeat to Rivers United

Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede is upbeat on his team’s title chances despite the defeat to Rivers United.

The Sky Blue Stars had their lead at the top of the table reduced to five points after going down to a 1-0 loss to Finidi George’s side.

Ogunmodede’s now have seven games to navigate before claiming their first Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title.

The Ikenne club will be away to Lobi Stars in a rescheduled matchday 30 encounter on Wednesday.

The young tactician is adamant they are still on course to win the title.

“No complications. We also go back to our home and win; we will be back to eight points.

“We have three more home games, and we will try as much as possible to get maximum points. It’s a fierce competition, and we love it,” he said after the game with Rivers United.

“We are almost there. In the next six weeks, we should be talking about this.”
