Strike deal with Trump or there’ll be hell to pay – White House warns Iran

The White House on Tuesday warned Iran to strike a deal with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Tehran’s nuclear program, or there will be “hell to pay.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued the warning during the daily press briefing.

According to her, Trump has reimposed crippling sanctions on the Iranian regime.

“The president has reimposed crippling sanctions on the Iranian regime, and he has made it very clear to Iran that they have a choice to make,” Leavitt said.

“You can strike a deal with the president, you can negotiate, or there will be hell to pay.

“As the president said yesterday, if they don’t choose to move forward with diplomacy and a deal—which is the direction we do not see them headed in—there will be grave consequences today.”

This comes after Trump, on Monday, announced that the U.S. and Iran would begin direct talks about Tehran’s nuclear program.

The U.S. president called it a “very big meeting.”

He said the talks cannot fail because Iran would be in “great danger” and “can’t have a nuclear weapon.”
