Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer branded Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga ‘stupid’ after Arsenal’s shock UEFA Champions League 3-0 win against the Los Blancos on Tuesday.
Following a goalless first half in the Champions League last-8 first leg tie at the Emirates Stadium, two free-kicks goals from Declan Rice and a strike from Mikel Merino gave the Gunners a commanding position in the quarter-final fixture.
Real Madrid’s night at Emirates Stadium got even worse in injury-time when Camavinga was sent off.
The Frenchman was already on a yellow card before he picked up another one when he delayed the restart by kicking the ball away.
However, Shearer was not pleased with Camavinga’s behaviour.
“How stupid is that,” Shearer said on Amazon Prime. “How ridiculous.
“I understand the frustration and I understand they have taken a beating tonight but that just sums up Real Madrid, it really does.”
Real Madrid will need to produce a miracle to defend their Champions League crown after when they host Arsenal in the return leg next week
