Europa League: Rangers battle ready for Athletico Bilbao – Balogun

Rangers defender Leon Balogun says they will do their best to secure a place in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League.

Barry Ferguson’s side will host Spanish club Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at Ibrox on Thursday (today).

The Gers’ form in Europe has contrasted starkly with their form at home.

Rangers lost 2-0 at home to Hibernian last weekend and are now out of contention for the Scottish Premiership title.

Balogun said the players are in a positive mood despite the defeat to Hibernian.

“We were all fairly clear about the fact we are now in a quarter-final.

“It is separate from what’s happening domestically, and we need to focus on that. There is a massive opportunity for the players and the club.

“The last two days have been pretty positive; everyone is aware of the domestic side, but we can focus on that after tomorrow night again.”
