Shun cash payments, pay your taxes to our portal - Zamfara govt to residents

Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service, ZIRS, has again called on tax-payers to desist from cash payment, advising them to pay their taxes through it’s portal payzamfara.

The call was made by the Executive chairperson, Hajiya Rakiya Ahmad Dodo through the Director, Direct Assesment of the organisation, Hajiya Aisha Aliyu Kilishin Kotorkoshi during a weekly zamfara radio Hausa phone-in programme “Da ruwan ciki akan ja na rijiya”

Hajiya Rakiya Ahmad Dodo maintained that the call became imperative, considering rampant cases of fraudulent activities being carried out by undesirable elements in the society.

The chairperson further advised them to continue co-operating with the agency by paying their taxes regularly to it, so as to complement the effort of the State Government, through executing developmental projects across the state.

She described taxes as a tool with which many leaders of developed countries use in taking their nations to a greater height.

Hajiya Dodo also reminded eligible tenement rate payers in the state, on the need to pay their rates from now to June this year, also thanked all and sundry for usual co-operation to the activities of the agency.

During the programme, the Deputy Director, Direct Assesment department, Ibrahim Bello Ruwan doruwa, explained the functions of revenue zonal offices in the state while Lirwanu Hassan, an Assitant Director in the department spoke extensively on presumptive tax and it’s classfications.

The programme was attended by the director information and intelligence department, Hadi Bawa and his deputy, Zayyanu Muhammad.
