BREAKING: Residents flee as suspected herdsmen launch fresh attack on Benue community, many dead

Several persons have been feared killed and many houses set ablaze in Benue State following a fresh wave of violent attacks allegedly carried out by suspected armed herdsmen in the early hours of Saturday.

Media Talk Africa gathered that several communities in Tombo Mbaya, located in Buruku Local Government Area, as well as neighboring Mbachoughu and Mbanyagber in Tarka LGA, came under siege in the coordinated assault.

The affected villages Ortese Mbaatsua, Garagboughul, Usen, Tomahar, and Tse Damkor reportedly witnessed scenes of chaos as residents fled in droves, seeking safety amid the onslaught.

A source told our reporter that displaced families have taken refuge in nearby towns, with many left traumatized and homeless.
