Benue tribunal: APC accepts removal of Melvin Ejeh as Agatu LG Chairman, congratulates Otache

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State has officially accepted the judgment of the Local Government Election Tribunal, which sacked the council chairman, Melvin Ejeh, and declared Napoleon Otache as the rightful winner of the chairmanship election.

In a statement signed by the APC Agatu LGA Chairman, Hon Saidu Abibu, the party congratulated Hon Otache on what it described as a landmark victory for democracy, justice, and the people of Agatu.

“This judgment stands as a monumental victory for the people of Agatu and the APC family. It reaffirms the judiciary’s role as the last hope of the common man and a beacon of justice in our democracy,” the statement read.

The APC leadership in Agatu expressed confidence in Hon Otache’s capacity to deliver purposeful leadership and drive meaningful development for the people of the local government.

Otache, who was reportedly the rightful candidate in the council chairmanship election, had been unlawfully omitted from the ballot by the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, BSIEC.
