Man electrocuted by live wire in Maiduguri

A tragic incident unfolded in Maiduguri on Tuesday evening when Alhaji Umaru Goma, a resident of the Meri area, was electrocuted while working at his zinc tent near the Baga Road Market.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 6:30 PM when a high-tension live wire snapped and landed on the roof of his structure, instantly electrocuting him.

A nearby police patrol team quickly responded and rushed the victim to the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

Authorities reported no signs of foul play, and the body was deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy before being released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
