Police condemn viral video of officers collecting money from Chinese national

Nasarawa: Police deny allegation of releasing murder suspect after taking bribe

The Nigeria Police Force have condemned a video circulating in the media, depicting police officers receiving money from a Chinese national.

In a statement signed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, the action was described as unprofessional and unethical behavior, which undermines the established ethics, standards and core values of the institution.

The Force High Command explained that the officers involved have been identified and are facing disciplinary action, reflecting the police’s zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct that erodes public trust.

The statement insisted, “The actions of the officers do not represent the established ethics, standards, and core values of the Nigeria Police Force.”

“The Force has zero tolerance for such unprofessional behavior and other forms of misconduct, which undermine public trust and confidence.”

The NPF further cautioned individuals and organizations that are privileged to the services of police personnel, particularly as escorts and guards or other specialized services, to desist from any act capable of degrading the integrity of its officers and bringing the Force into disrepute.
