Trump fumes at Jeff Bezos over Amazon’s tariffs move

President Donald Trump has been left fuming at Amazon owner Jeff Bezos after the retailer revealed plans to include the cost of tariffs in the displayed prices of products.

Amazon intends to show the cost of Trump’s tariffs on countries such as China alongside the listed price of each item for sale on its website.

The Trump administration has now publicly described the move as a “hostile and political act” against America.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday that she had just spoken to the US President about what she called the “Amazon bombshell.”

According to Leavitt, Trump’s message was clear: “This is a hostile and political act by Amazon.”

Leavitt also accused the world’s largest online retailer of acting in a partisan fashion.

“Why didn’t Amazon do this when the Biden administration hiked inflation to the highest level in 40 years?” she asked.
