Prioritise policies that foster decent work conditions- APC Senator tells FG

A member of the National Assembly, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has advised all levels of government to prioritise policies that will foster decent work conditions for workers in the country.

Alli who represents Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, made the call in a statement issued on Thursday to felicitate workers on the occasion of this year’s Workers Day.

The statement which was signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas was made available to Media Talk Africa in Ibadan.

The lawmaker advocated for policies that would promote fair wages and opportunities for workers, saying it would help improve professional development among workers in the country.

Alli in the statement also commended workers for their resilience, dedication and unwavering contributions to the development of the state and the country at large.

He also used the opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable roles workers have been playing in driving growth and sustaining critical sectors, despite numerous economic challenges.

He described workers as the backbone of the state’s progress.

“I acknowledged the invaluable roles workers play in driving growth and sustaining critical sectors, despite numerous economic challenges.

“The celebration was a reminder of the need to continually improve the welfare, safety and rights of workers.

“I urged government at all levels to prioritize policies that foster decent work conditions, fair wages and opportunities for professional development”.
