I am not joining APC – Gov Adeleke dismisses defection rumours

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared he is not defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Adeleke spoke at a meeting with leaders of the Osun State chapter of the PDP on Wednesday.

The governor was reacting to reports suggesting he has left the PDP for the ruling party.

Adeleke described rumours of his defection as baseless.

He claimed they were spread by those threatened by the state’s progress under his leadership.

Adeleke said, “My people, party elders and chiefs, I declare before you today that I am not defecting to APC or any other political party.

“I remain in PDP. Ignore any fake news.”

Media Talk Africa reports that the meeting which was held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, brought together top Osun PDP leaders, with former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola participating virtually.
