APC endorses Governor Umar Namadi as sole candidate for 2027 election

Livestock accounts for Jigawa's 10% GDP - Gov Namadi

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially endorsed Governor Umar Namadi as its sole gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a “citizens engagement” programme held in Guri Local Government Area, where prominent party leaders and stakeholders gathered to assess the administration’s performance and receive input from citizens.

Speaking at the event, leader of APC and former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Faruk Adamu Aliyu, revealed the unanimous decision.

He urged party members to remain united in their support for Governor Namadi, emphasising that all APC members of the House of Representatives present at the gathering approved the resolution, citing their confidence in the governor’s leadership and the developmental strides achieved under his administration.

“This endorsement reflects our collective satisfaction with the governor’s performance and the direction in which he is steering the state,” Aliyu said.

The move comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to intensify, and it is widely seen as a strategic effort to consolidate the party’s strength and maintain continuity in development planning.

Media Talk Africa reported that eight aspirants participated in the governorship primary election of APC in 2023.
