Nasarawa PDP leadership extends olive branch to Onawo group after Appeal Court victory

The Adamu Bako-led State Working Committee (SWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has extended a hand of reconciliation to the aggrieved faction loyal to Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, following the recent Court of Appeal judgment that validated the Bako-led executive.

In a statement released on Monday by Mr. Jonathan Ipaa, Press Secretary to Chairman Adamu Bako, the PDP leadership described the appellate court’s verdict as “a victory for all” and called on critical stakeholders to put aside their differences and unite in rebuilding the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“There is no victor and no vanquish. There is no reason to even celebrate, as this is a family affair—just as the presiding judge rightly advised,” Bako stated.

He assured party faithful that his leadership would do everything within its power to bring all members together in the spirit of peace and reconciliation.

“The task ahead requires every lover of the party to work for unity and harmony if we are to reclaim PDP’s rightful place in the political landscape of Nasarawa State,” Bako added.

While hailing the Appeal Court’s ruling as a resolution of an internal party matter, Bako also urged the party’s reconciliation committee to intensify its efforts in reaching out to the Onawo-led faction.

However, in a swift reaction, the Onawo group rejected the judgment of the appellate court and announced plans to challenge the ruling at the Supreme Court.
