Aliko Dangote Foundation Distributes 35,000 Bags of Rice to Kaduna Communities

In a significant move to combat hunger and poverty, the Aliko Dangote Foundation has distributed 35,000 bags of rice to 23 local governments in Kaduna State, Nigeria. This generous donation is part of the foundation’s annual national food intervention project, which aims to support over one million less privileged Nigerians nationwide.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Sani Kila, commended Aliko Dangote and his foundation for their unwavering commitment to fighting hunger and poverty. The governor noted that each local government will receive 1,522 bags of rice, weighing 10 kilograms each, and praised the foundation’s interventions as well-targeted and impactful.

The governor emphasized that the Aliko Dangote Foundation’s social protection initiatives align with his administration’s policies and programs on social investment. Since taking office, the governor’s administration has focused on delivering basic services, including health, education, and social protection, to improve the lives of citizens. Additionally, the administration has supported economic recovery through inclusive growth and development, financial inclusion, and literacy programs for the poor and vulnerable.

Speaking at the event, Sadiq Ahmed, a representative of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, explained that the initiative embodies compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility. The foundation’s annual national food intervention project cuts across all 774 local governments in Nigeria and reflects the core values of Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s businesses and the foundation. The distribution of palliatives demonstrates the foundation’s commitment to supporting communities in line with its core values.

The partnership between the Kaduna State government and the Aliko Dangote Foundation is set to continue, with the governor promising to work with people-focused foundations to improve the living conditions of the poor and vulnerable in the state. This collaboration is a significant step towards addressing the economic challenges facing Nigeria and promoting a more equitable society.
