Anambra State Government Welcomes Promises Made by President Tinubu During State Visit

State visit: Anambra Govt expresses excitement over Tinubu's promises

Nigeria’s Anambra State is abuzz with excitement following a recent visit from President Bola Tinubu, who made several key promises to support the state’s development. During his trip, Tinubu spoke at a town hall meeting in Awka, where he outlined plans to tackle erosion, improve road infrastructure, and reconnect the state to the national railway system.

According to Dr. Law Mefor, the Commissioner for Information, the state visit was a resounding success, yielding several benefits for the state and its citizens. The president’s promises include assisting the state in addressing its erosion threat, reintegrating it into the national railway system, and restoring it to the nation’s gas master plan. Additionally, Tinubu pledged to complete the federal roads linking Anambra and Kogi states, which will facilitate access and reduce travel time to the South-South and Abuja.

During his visit, Tinubu also inaugurated several key projects, including the new Anambra Government House, the Solution Fun City, an eight-lane dual highway, and the Light of the Nation Tower. However, it was his comments about Governor Chukwuma Soludo that generated significant interest, as they were perceived as a tacit endorsement of the governor’s bid for a second term in office.

With a governorship election scheduled for November 8, Soludo will be seeking re-election, and there had been concerns that Tinubu might support the APC candidate. However, the president’s remarks, in which he referred to Soludo as “my very good friend” and expressed his intention to continue working together, have alleviated these concerns and calmed nerves among Soludo’s supporters.

The people of Anambra State are eagerly awaiting the implementation of the president’s promises, which are expected to bring significant benefits to the state. As the election approaches, the endorsement from Tinubu is likely to have a significant impact on the outcome, and Soludo’s supporters are optimistic about his chances of securing a second term in office. With the state’s development and progress at the forefront of the agenda, the coming weeks and months will be crucial in shaping the future of Anambra State.
