Rising Star from Morocco Takes the Martial Arts World by Storm
In the sun-kissed landscapes of Spain, a young man from Morocco has been making waves in the martial arts world. Ossama Rouimi, who moved to Spain with his family at the age of seven, has been honing his skills in Moo-Ay Thai fighting, also known as "Thai boxing," for the past decade. This dynamic martial art allows fighters to use their fists, feet, knees, and elbows to outmaneuver their opponents, and Rouimi has proven to be a force to be reckoned with.
Rouimi’s journey into Moo-Ay Thai fighting began when he was introduced to the sport by a friend. Initially, he was drawn to football, but after watching his friend train in Moo-Ay Thai, he was hooked. "It’s been ten years since I took up this sport," Rouimi explains. "I started with football, but I had a friend who practiced this sport, and I used to enjoy watching him train. Then, I joined him in training, liked it, and since then, this sport has become my life."
Since taking up the sport, Rouimi has achieved impressive success, winning three professional titles, including two in Thailand, the birthplace of Moo-Ay Thai. Currently, he competes under the Spanish flag, but his heart belongs to Morocco, the country of his parents and forefathers. "To be honest, I would love to represent Morocco, my country and the country of my parents and forefathers," Rouimi confesses. "But I live here in Spain, and I don’t have the opportunity to go to Morocco and join them. However, I’d love the opportunity one day to represent Morocco."
As Rouimi prepares for his next challenge, the Moo-Ay Thai World Championship in Verona, Italy, in June, he is more determined than ever to make his mark on the global martial arts scene.
