Three Kebbi senators defect to APC after meeting Tinubu in Abuja

LG polls: Lagos APC clears 432 chairmanship aspirants for May 10 primaries

In a major political shift, three serving senators from Kebbi State who were elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senators—Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), a former governor of the state; Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North); and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)—announced their defection following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.

They were accompanied by the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The meeting was also attended by key political figures, including Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.

The defection marks a significant development in Kebbi State’s political landscape and is expected to strengthen the APC’s position both in the state and within the National Assembly as political realignments continue ahead of future elections and legislative activities.
