PDP lawmaker joins APC in Niger

BREAKING: All Delta PDP Reps defect to APC

A lawmaker representing Suleja, Gurara and Tafa Federal Constituency, Adamu Lokoja, in Niger State, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

APC Chairman in the state, Aminu Bobi, formally welcomed Lokoja into the party at its state office in Minna.

The Niger East Zonal Chairman of the APC, Danladi Ahijoh, while speaking during the official ceremony, said that joining the party is an investment for politicians who want to partake in the future of tomorrow.

He added that the transformational changes witnessed under the APC-led government are the reasons behind his defection. Recent defectors from the PDP to the APC have cited internal party crises and a lack of cohesiveness as their motivations.

Media Talk Africa reports that Representative Lokoja is among three members of the 10th Assembly who were elected under the platform of the opposition PDP in Niger State.

In a recent instance, three PDP lawmakers from Katsina State defected to the APC, citing prolonged and unresolved crises within the PDP.

This trend highlights the challenges faced by the PDP in maintaining its membership and influence ahead of the election.
