Emerging Victors: APC Primaries Yield Consensus Candidates in Lagos State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State have continued to yield a plethora of candidates, with results declared in at least 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and several Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). The elections, characterized by a peaceful and coordinated process, have produced consensus candidates in various areas. As of the last count, numerous winners have emerged, setting the stage for the next phase of the political process.

Among the LCDAs that have produced consensus candidates are Iba, Oto-Awori, Ijede, and Lekki, with winners including Isa Jubreel, Azeez Kareem, Motunrayo Gbadebo, and Hassan Kasali, respectively. Additional winners from LGAs and LCDAs where results have been confirmed include Prince Akanbi Hamzat in Ifako-Ijaiye, Rosiji Oluyemisi in Ojokoro LCDA, and Barr. Moyo Ogunlewe in Kosofe LGA.

Other notable winners include Hon. Olamilekan Akindipe in Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, Hon. Suliamon Yusuf in Surulere LGA, and Hon. Ogidan Owolabi Azeez in Coker/Aguda LCDA. The complete list of winners also features Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo in Ejigbo LCDA, Adetola Oyedele Abubakar in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, and Muibi Alade Folawiyo in Lagos Island East LCDA.

While results from other areas are still being compiled, party officials are working diligently to coordinate the collation and declaration of winners. The APC primaries in Lagos State have been marked by a sense of camaraderie and cooperation, with candidates and party members coming together to ensure a smooth and peaceful process.
