Uba, Gombe not appointed as NWC members – SDP

The Social Democratic Party, SDP has debunked reports of the appointment of Ugochukwu Uba and Dr. Sadiq Abubakar Gombe as members of its National Working Committee, NWC.

SDP described the reports as misleading, noting that the two acclaimed persons are not registered members of the party.

The party in a statement issued on Saturday by Chief Arinze Ekelem, National Vice Chairman (South-East) debunked the purported appointment of Senator Ugochukwu Uba as the National Deputy Chairman (South) of the party, pointing out that his name could not be found in SDP’s register anywhere.

The statement similarly averred that one Dr. Sadiq Abubakar Gombe who was reported to have been appointed Deputy National Chairman (North) is not a registered member, hence couldn’t have been appointed as claimed.

SDP dismissed the report as misleading and false information fabricated to create confusion within its fold, and urged authentic members of the party and Nigerians to ignore it.

The statement said: “The South East zone of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in totality debunked the appointment of Dr Ugochukwu Uba as the National Deputy chairman south of the party.

“The falsehood and misleading information reported by some media outfits that one Ugochukwu Uba has been appointed the National Deputy Chairman (South) of Social Democratic Party, SDP, is false, misleading and never happened.

“Neither Senator Ugochukwu Uba nor Dr Sadiq Abubakar Gombe are registered members of SDP.*
