Myanmar PM Says Russia, China, and India Can Bring Multipolarity to World Stage

No single power should control the world – Myanmar PM — RT World News

Myanmar’s Prime Minister, Min Aung Hlaing, has emphasized the importance of a multipolar world, stating that no single power should control the globe. In an exclusive interview with RT, Hlaing expressed his belief that a multipolar system is the best approach to avoid conflict, particularly for developing countries like Myanmar that have suffered under a unipolar system.

Hlaing highlighted the historical context of global power dynamics, noting that the US and Western bloc once controlled the world through unipolarity, which later became bipolar and then returned to unipolarity, strengthening the West. However, he pointed out that Russia, China, and India have made significant progress in military, economic, and scientific fields, paving the way for a more multipolar world.

The prime minister emphasized that collaboration between Moscow, Beijing, and New Delhi, as three equally important global powers, is crucial for achieving multipolarity. “If they act in unison, multipolarity will become a global reality. No one will accept this unipolarity anymore,” he said. Hlaing encouraged smaller countries to cooperate with these powers, stressing the importance of developing their own economic capabilities while increasing cooperation with each other.

Hlaing’s comments come after his visit to Moscow, where he attended the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that relations between Moscow and Naypyidaw have been steadily developing, with a 40% increase in trade turnover in 2024 alone. Putin also expressed gratitude to Myanmar’s leadership for facilitating Russia’s cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The push for multipolarity is seen as a significant shift in global politics, as countries seek to move away from a unipolar world dominated by a single power. Hlaing’s statement reflects the growing sentiment among many nations that a more balanced and equitable approach to global governance is necessary for peace and prosperity. As the world continues to evolve, the concept of multipolarity is likely to remain a key topic of discussion among global leaders, with countries like Russia, China, and India playing increasingly important roles in shaping the future of international relations.
