Nigerian Army Chief Orders Troops to Crush Terrorists Without Mercy

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has issued a stern directive to commanding officers and soldiers toeliminarate terrorists from the country’s territory without mercy. This order was given during the closing of the COAS Bi Annual conference in Maiduguri, where top army generals convened for three days to strategize on safeguarding national peace and security.

The conference provided a platform for in-depth discussions and brainstorming sessions, culminating in a resolve to completely neutralize the threats to peace. Lt.-Gen. Oluyede emphasized the importance of this mission, stating, “Ladies and gentlemen, there is no contesting our decision to completely neutralise these detractors to peace.” He further charged each officer and soldier to spare no effort in running the terrorists and criminals to the ground, emphasizing that they seek to disrupt the country’s way of life and destroy the society built by their forefathers.

The Chief of Army Staff insisted that every strategic decision made during the conference must be adopted to achieve the set objectives. He announced plans to induct more combat enablers into operations in the coming weeks, acknowledging that the strength of the Nigerian Army lies not only in its weapons but also in the will of its soldiers. Lt.-Gen. Oluyede called on everyone to show exemplary leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the next generation of soldiers, citing the need to protect the country’s socio-cultural heritage from the adversary that threatens it.

The conference showcased the intellectual rigor and strategic foresight of the Nigerian Army, with Lt.-Gen. Oluyede expressing satisfaction that the objectives of the first Bi Annual conference had been largely achieved. He expressed his commitment to implementing the suggested measures in current and future engagements, ensuring that the Nigerian Army remains a formidable force in the face of emerging challenges. With this directive, the Nigerian Army is poised to intensify its efforts to eliminate terrorism and maintain peace and security in the country.
