This assurance was given during the commemoration of the Navy’s 69th Anniversary in Abuja, where Ogalla was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Adm. Ibrahim Dewu.

The Nigerian Navy’s leadership has also prioritized personnel welfare, providing befitting accommodations to ensure their well-being. The 69th Anniversary serves as an opportunity for collective and individual introspection, allowing personnel to uphold the core values of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork. Rear Adm. Dewu emphasized that the Nigerian Navy’s readiness to defend the nation is not in doubt, particularly with the acquisition of new platforms, including ships and helicopters. The central programs for the Navy Week will take place in Lagos, featuring an interdenominational church service, a sailing competition, and the inauguration of new projects and platforms. The highlight of the Navy Week will be the ceremonial sunset and dinner on June 1, marking the Navy’s birthday, at the Naval Dockyard in Lagos.
