Coalition: Peter Obi will run for President under LP ‘for now’ – Obidient Movement

2027: All fake news- Obidient Movement debunks alleged Obi, Atiku alliance

Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of Obidient Movement, on Saturday said former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi may run for the 2027 presidency on the platform of the Labour Party, LP.

Tanko said Obi while speaking at an event in Abuja said he would run for the presidency under LP “for now.”

Speaking with Media Talk Africa, Tanko assured that Obi is still a member of the Labour Party.

He said: “He spoke at a coffee party in Abuja where he was asked if he will still run under the Labour Party and he said he’s still a member and will run under the party ‘for now,’ he put it under a caveat for now.”

This comes as Obi affirmed that he is still a member of the LP and would continue to run on the platform of the party.

Obi is currently involved in the formation of a coalition that would wrest power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The opposition coalition is spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Obi, former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai and other opposition stakeholders.

In their push to birth the coalition, the trio and other stakeholders met on Tuesday night to finalize the modalities for the official unveiling of the coalition.
