Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, have warned serving lawmakers from the state not to expect automatic tickets stressing that their various positions will be contested because they defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the APC.
He maintained that there was no political agreement with anyone that the positions would not be contested, saying, “We nor get agreement with anybody to that effect. Anybody wey say Dem nor go contest their position because them come join APC, lie. We must contest all positions.”
Chief Emami handed down the warning at a welcome party held in his honour by Prince Francis Agbowosile in Ugbuwangue Community in Warri.
He noted that the only positions that has the support of the people of Warri Federal Constituency is the position of the Presidency and the governor.
Chief Emami insisted that if other local government councils say they don’t have candidates in the 2027 elections, “in the Warri South and Warri North Local Government Areas respectively,”we have Senatorial Candidate”.
A former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Daniel Mayuku, moved a motion that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be endorsed as the sole candidate of the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
The motion was supported by a former chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, Mofe Matthew Edema.
Promptly, Chief Emami threw it up to members of the party present in a voice vote and President Tinubu was endorsed as APC sole Presidential candidate for 2027.
Present at the event were Prince Yemi Emiko and many others.
