Terror in Abuja: Kidnappers Storm Residential Estate, Hold Residents Hostage
In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a group of heavily armed kidnappers stormed the Grow Homes estate in Kubwa, Abuja’s largest suburban town, on Monday morning. The brazen attack, which occurred between 12am and 1:30am, left residents traumatized and pleading for government intervention.
According to eyewitnesses, the kidnappers overpowered the local vigilance team and held residents hostage for over an hour. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the harrowing experience, stating that a man and a woman were taken away by the kidnappers. In a surprising twist, the woman was later found within the estate, freed by her abductors for unknown reasons. However, the resident was unable to confirm the total number of persons kidnapped.
The police responded swiftly to the incident, arriving at the scene around 1am, and engaging the kidnappers in a fierce exchange of gunfire that lasted approximately 30 minutes. "We are begging the government to fix this road for easy access for security patrol vehicles," he urged.
