Zaaki Azzay Denies Police Wanted List Allegations Over PMAN Union Issues

Nigerian Music Icon Zaaki Azzay Clears the Air on False Allegations

In a bold move, veteran Nigerian musician Zaaki Azzay has come out to vehemently deny rumors circulating on social media that he is on the run from the law. The iconic artist took to his official Instagram page to address the allegations, describing them as "fake and misleading." According to Zaaki, he was not even in Lagos at the time of the alleged incident and has not received any police invitation or arrest warrant.

At the heart of the matter is the removal of a former president of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), which Zaaki insists was done in accordance with the organization’s constitution. "The issues we have are related to union matters and the removal of our former PMAN President for actions that were not in line with our constitution," he explained in a video statement. Zaaki’s clarification has shed light on the true nature of the controversy, which appears to be a case of internal union politics rather than a criminal matter.

Zaaki has also issued a stern warning to those responsible for spreading the false reports, stating his intention to uncover the source and take action. "I am making this video to warn those spreading this fake news to desist. Investigations are already ongoing to determine who is responsible," he said. The musician emphasized the importance of protecting his reputation, saying "The only thing I have is my name and integrity–I will not let this slide." Zaaki has even threatened to pursue legal action against individuals or media outlets found to be complicit in the defamation campaign.

The musician’s statement has garnered support from fans and industry colleagues, who have called for responsible journalism and cautioned against the spread of unverified information. As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Zaaki Azzay will not let his reputation be tarnished by false allegations. With his integrity and name on the line, the Nigerian music icon is determined to set the record straight and hold those responsible accountable.
