Africa Development Bank Calls for Globally Respected Media House to Shape Continent’s Narratives

The African continent is taking a significant step towards shaping its own narrative with the Africa Development Bank’s (AfDB) 2025 Annual Meetings. Held in Abidjan, the meetings bring together African Heads of States and Governments, Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and other key stakeholders to discuss the continent’s development. According to Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the AfDB, Africa needs a globally respected media house to tell its own story and showcase its progress towards effective and transparent development.

The meetings, themed “Making Africa’s Capital Work Better for Africa’s Development,” aim to mobilize the continent’s vast human, financial, and natural capital to drive inclusive growth, economic transformation, and sustainable development. With 47 African countries affected by new U.S. tariffs and adjustments to development financing flows, the meetings come at a critical time. Participants are expected to deliberate on strengthening regional markets, deepening value chains, and positioning Africa as a self-sustaining global player.

The event programme features key highlights, including the Presidential Dialogue, the launch of the African Economic Outlook, and in-depth thematic discussions on mobilizing capital and building stronger institutions. Sessions will also address financing infrastructure, climate action, food security, digital innovation, and private sector engagement. The outcomes of the meetings will help راهنم policy frameworks, partnerships, and investment strategies that reflect Africa’s evolving economic landscape.

As the continent continues to navigate major shifts in global trade, the AfDB’s 2025 Annual Meetings provide a platform for African leaders to come together and shape the continent’s future. With a focus on inclusive growth, economic transformation, and sustainable development, the meetings are a crucial step towards creating a brighter future for Africa. By shaping its own narrative and mobilizing its capital, Africa can position itself as a self-sustaining global player, ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century.
