PDP on the Rise: Senator Abba Moro Expresses Confidence in Party’s Revamp Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a bold statement of optimism, Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, has voiced his strong confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) efforts to revitalize its fortunes ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking at the 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, Moro emphasized that members of the PDP in the National Assembly are fully behind the party’s leadership in their quest to restore its strength.

Moro’s words of encouragement came as a beacon of hope for the party, which has faced recent defections. However, he remained resolute, stating, "We have complete confidence in the lineup of activities by the leadership of the party, which will culminate in the national convention." He further assured members, supporters, and lovers of democracy in Nigeria that the PDP is poised for a comeback, saying, "There’s no better time than now to assure members, supporters, and lovers of democracy in Nigeria that PDP is coming back."

Despite acknowledging the recent defections, Moro insisted that the PDP remains Nigeria’s largest political brand, boasting a strong presence across the country. He described these setbacks as temporary, affirming that the party’s ideals and vision will make it the party to beat in the 2027 elections. Moro recalled the PDP’s humble beginnings with just 16 founding members who envisioned a democratic party to provide purposeful leadership, urging members to stay united and confident.

In a rallying cry, Moro declared, "Nigeria deserves an alternative, and that alternative is the PDP." His message resonates with the party’s commitment to providing a viable alternative to the current political landscape. As the PDP gears up for the 2027 elections, Moro’s confidence serves as a testament to the party’s determination to reclaim its position as a leading force in Nigerian politics. With its rich history and strong ideals, the PDP is indeed poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections, and Moro’s words have sent a clear signal that the party is ready to rise to the challenge.
