Only coalition can save Nigeria from APC’s misgovernance – Anambra ADC guber candidate

Kebbi 2027: We won’t cede party leadership to newcomers – ADC chairman

The Anambra State Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr John C. Nwosu, has said that the primary reason why some political actors are coming together to form a coalition is to rescue Nigeria from bad governance.

Nwosu who recently dumped the Labour Party for ADC, and later picked the party’s governorship ticket, said only a coalition can save Nigeria from the bad governance being witnessed under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to journalists in Awka on Wednesday he said: “Rescuing Nigeria is now a compelling imperative. Given the level of state capture and poor governance we are witnessing, it is in the common and national interest to arrest the drift.

“I have moved to ADC. We have values and choices. You need to be able to defend the platform from where you operate. Where there are obvious conflicts to conscience and integrity, you excuse yourself or risk being party to the wrongdoings, that was why I left APC. ADC presented a credible alternative.”

Speaking on the expected coalition, which is rumoured to be centred around ADC, and those who make up the coalition, Nwosu said it does not matter who and who are coming together, but the urgency to rescue Nigeria from bad governance.

“Coalition is exactly what it says – a gathering of like minds or people or platforms with a similar or common interest.

“However, personalities and candidates can drive or influence a coalition. The common interest now is to salvage the sinking ship called Nigeria.”
