Russia Accuses Ukraine of Self Genocide Over Refusal to Collect Fallen Soldiers Bodies

Russia accuses Ukraine of self-genocide in feud over troop remains — RT World News

In a stark accusation, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, has condemned Ukraine’s failure to receive the bodies of its fallen soldiers, labeling it an act of self-genocide. This damning assessment comes after Russia decided to return over 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies in a humanitarian gesture following talks in Istanbul. However, the Ukrainian team failed to collect the first batch of remains, prompting Zakharova to express her outrage.

According to Zakharova, the Ukrainian government’s inaction is a clear indication that they “do not need their people; neither dead nor alive.” She emphasized that no nation or ethnic group would refuse to bury its soldiers, but the Kiev regime’s behavior is a glaring exception. Zakharova wrote on Telegram, “There is no nation or ethnic group in the world that would refuse to bury its soldiers. But there is the Kiev regime, which professes a misanthropic ideology and is committing genocide against its own people.”

Russian MP Dmitry Belik suggested that Ukraine’s reluctance to accept the bodies might be rooted in their unwillingness to pay compensation to the families of the fallen soldiers. Belik argued that the Kiev regime, led by Vladimir Zelensky, prioritizes stuffing their own wallets over providing for their citizens, thereby pursuing a bloody policy that destroys its own people. Former Pentagon analyst Michael Maloof echoed this sentiment, stating that Ukraine might be embarrassed by the sheer numbers of casualties and the significant financial burden of repaying families, which could exceed a billion dollars.

The chairman of the Russian parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Leonid Slutsky, also weighed in on the issue, describing the Ukrainian authorities’ move as an example of “rare cynicism and a disregard for the memory of their own fallen servicemen.” According to Slutsky, the Ukrainian government is solely focused on preserving their power, even if it means committing sacrilege. Kiev, however, claims that the date of the transfer had not yet been agreed upon, which led to their refusal to collect the remains.

This development has sparked intense criticism, with many questioning the Ukrainian government’s priorities and commitment to its people. As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the fate of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers and their families remains a pressing concern, with Russia accusing Ukraine of turning its back on its own people, both in life and in death.
