We will not tolerate disharmony and confusion – Jigawa APC warns members

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has warned that it will not tolerate any attempt by any group or individual to cause disharmony and confusion in the party.

The warning was issued in a statement signed by the party’s Secretary Muhammad Dakuma Umar on Saturday.

The warning is coming in response to recent heated exchanges in the media between the supporters of ex-governor, Minister of Defence Muhammad Badaru Abubaker and the incumbent governor, Malam Umar Namadi.

“Having reviewed the current trends of events and happenings in the state, we wish to with all sincerity and commitment to duty and righteousness state that some dissenting voices in respect of the Government of Jigawa State under Mallam Umar A. Namadi are voices that lack clear understanding of the dynamics of governance,” the statement said.

It added that the APC is committed towards the unity of its members and therefore will not tolerate the idea of creating disharmony and confusion within the party.

“The media outcries that rent the air these days are but deliberate attempts to tarnish the image of the government, so as to take away Governor Umar Namadi’s good attention from the excellent services to the people of Jigawa State.

“We therefore want to reaffirm that the former Governor and serving Governor are in good cordial relationship and are all working towards the development of the state.

“We are therefore urging the members of the party especially supporters of the two leaders to help in the development of the state.”

The statement noted that the party will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone or group trying to defame the government or cause unnecessary tension for selfish gain.
