Gombe Governor Declares Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid

In a significant display of support, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027. The announcement was made during the groundbreaking ceremony of a 184-hectare Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone in the state, a project that underscores the administration’s commitment to agricultural development.

Governor Yahaya highlighted the positive impact of President Tinubu’s initiatives on the country, particularly in the livestock sector. Since assuming office in 2023, the Tinubu administration has invested in the livestock value chain, aiming to boost economic growth, create jobs, and improve the welfare of citizens. The agro-livestock industrial zone in Gombe, supported by the federal government with an approved ₦120 billion and a released 50% of the funds, is a testament to this commitment.

The governor expressed his admiration for President Tinubu’s dedication to the people, especially in the Northern region where the livestock industry is predominantly based. “I assure the President that for what he has done, is doing, and will do, Gombe people will follow him to the battlefield blindfolded,” Governor Yahaya stated, emphasizing the strong support for the President’s re-election bid. “We will work for his success in 2027. By God’s grace, his re-election is assured.”

Governor Yahaya also noted that President Tinubu’s support for the livestock sector reflects his care for the people, a sentiment that resonates deeply in the Northern region. The President’s willingness to invest ₦120 billion in transforming the livestock sector, despite it being overlooked by previous Northern leaders, demonstrates his capacity and will to bring about meaningful change.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the agro-livestock industrial zone marks a significant milestone in the development of Gombe State and the entire country. As Governor Yahaya commended President Tinubu’s commitment to fully developing the agricultural sector, he also assured Nigerians that better days lie ahead under the President’s leadership, despite the temporary hardships resulting from ongoing reforms. With this endorsement, it is clear that Governor Yahaya and the people of Gombe State are confident in President Tinubu’s vision for the country’s future.
