Iyan Jama’are Ahmed Nuhu Wabi Dies in Fatal Motor Accident

Tragedy has struck in Bauchi, Nigeria, with the sudden death of Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Wabi, the Iyan Jama’are and eldest son of the late Emir of Jama’are, in a fatal motor accident. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2025, leaving a community in shock and mourning.

Wabi was a respected figure, known for his humility and dedication to traditional leadership. He had also served as the District Head of Hanafari, earning the admiration of his people for his commitment to their well-being. His passing has sent ripples of sadness throughout the region, with many paying tribute to his remarkable life and legacy.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his deep sorrow at the news, describing it as “deeply shocking and painful.” In a statement conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor noted that Wabi’s life was cut short in his prime. He went on to say, “This is not just a loss to the Jama’are Emirate but a painful blow to the entire state. Ahmed Nuhu Wabi was a beacon of hope and an embodiment of service, justice, and peace.”

As the news of Wabi’s death spread, it was revealed that he was the heir to the revered Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi III, who had reigned for 50 years until his passing in February 2020. The late Iyan Jama’are’s burial is scheduled to take place on June 16, 2025, at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi, with the community coming together to pay their respects to a leader who had touched so many lives.

The outpouring of grief and tributes is a testament to Wabi’s impact on his community. His passing serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing the time we have with our loved ones.
