FIRS opens weekend tax services to ease pressure ahead of deadline

As the June 30 deadline for Companies Income Tax (CIT) filing approaches, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has opened a weekend service window.

This will give businesses more time before the deadline as it fast approaches.

From Saturday, June 14, to Sunday, June 29, 2025, FIRS offices across the country will open every weekend to attend to taxpayers.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the FIRS, under the leadership of Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, to make tax compliance more accessible and less stressful.

Taxpayers are encouraged to use this window of opportunity to file their returns and sort out any outstanding tax matters.

Missing the June 30 deadline could lead to interest charges, penalties, and limited chances of getting waivers.
