In a significant show of support, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This endorsement comes with a promise to back the president’s re-election bid in 2027, driven by the party’s commitment to delivering more benefits of democracy to the populace.
The decision was made at a gathering of party executives in Hong on Tuesday, where the APC North-East Zonal Vice-Chairman, Mr. Salihu Mustapha, emphasized the meeting’s objective: to foster unity and progress within the party, both at the state and national levels. Mr. Mustapha highlighted the administration’s notable achievements under President Tinubu’s leadership, which have had a positive impact on the country. These successes include the implementation of a N70,000 minimum wage, payment of arrears, granting autonomy to local governments, removing fuel subsidies, and intensifying efforts to combat corruption.
Yusuf Captain-Buba, Chairman of the Reconciliation and Reposition Committee in Adamawa Central Zone, also praised President Tinubu for his substantial contributions to revitalizing the economy and transforming the agricultural sector. “With these and numerous other achievements, we hereby express our confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for their efforts in curbing insecurity in parts of the country,” he stated. Mr. Captain-Buba outlined the committee’s mandate, which includes reconciling disgruntled party members, mobilizing voters, reclaiming the state’s governorship, and securing President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He urged local government party executives across the state to promote justice and tolerance among all members.
During the event, Rufai Umar, a member of the state House of Assembly representing Gombi Constituency, noted that the meeting laid out strategies to address the challenges facing the party. This collective commitment from APC stakeholders in Adamawa reflects a broader trend of support for the Tinubu administration, as the party works to consolidate its position and prepare for future electoral contests. With this vote of confidence, the APC in Adamawa has sent a strong message about its unity and determination to work towards the party’s goals, including the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027.
