FCT 2026: APC releases names of primary election committees ahead of chairmanship polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of members appointed to serve on the Primary Election Committees for the upcoming 2026 Area Council Chairmanship Elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The list, which includes committee chairmen, members, and secretaries for the six area councils, was shared in a statement posted on Wednesday by APC on X.

According to the statement, the inauguration of the appointed committee chairmen and secretaries will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the APC National Secretariat located at No. 40, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.

“For Gwagwalada Area Council, the committee will be chaired by Hon. Shafi’u Duwan, with Hon. Yahaya Shehu Maradun serving as secretary.

“In Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr. Habibu Ibrahim will serve as chairman, while Margaret Duru will act as secretary.

“Bwari Area Council will have Hon. Austin Agada as chairman and Hon. Sanusi Sa’idu Kiru as secretary, while Hon. Afolarin Mayowa Samuel chairs the Abaji Area Council committee, with Hon. Abdullahi Maharazu as secretary.

“In Kwali Area Council, the committee is headed by Dr. Akombo Benedict Imoter, and Hon. Gambo Rimi will serve as secretary.

“For Kuje Area Council, Barr. Yakubu Bello was named chairman, while Engr. Umar Shehu takes the role of secretary.”
